What is Southern Comfort

Southern Comfort is one of the most popular alcoholic beverages created in New Orleans by Martin Wilkes Heron, an American bartender, back in 1874. Abbreviated as ‘SoCo’, the main ingredients of this commercial drink are rectified spirit and the flavors of fruits, spices, and whiskey. The drink is not totally gluten-free but has relatively less amount of gluten.

1. Southern Comfort Classic Fruity Punch

Considered as one of the best and most common SoCo cocktails, begin making by mixing 1½ oz of Southern Comfort with the same amount of Amaretto in a glass. Add a dash of grenadine, an oz of sloe gin, and 2 oz of orange juice. Serve with orange peels in an old-fashioned glass.

5. Sweet-n-Sour SoCo Drink with Whiskey

Shake together ½ oz Southern Comfort, ¾ oz blended Scotch whiskey, ¼ oz Mandarin Orange Liqueur, 1 oz of sweet and sour mix and lemonade (or Coke/7 Up), each, and finally, a splash of grenadine. Fill a tall glass with this mix and serve with ice and lemon wedges.
