Top 10 Chartreuse Drinks and Cocktails

What is Chartreuse

Chartreuse (pronunciation: shaar’trooz or shaar’troos) is a strong French liqueur, since 1737, and was made by the then Catholic ‘Carthusian Monks’ hailing from the ‘Grande Chartreuse’ monastery in the Chartreuse Mountains (and hence the name).

This distilled beverage has a very sweet taste and is prepared from 130 kinds of flowers, plants, and herbs, and continues to taste better and better with age. Interestingly, there are two distinct types of Chartreuse – the 110 proof Green Chartreuse (55% abv), which is the original one, and the 80 proof Yellow Chartreuse (40% abv), which is the sweeter variation.

Now, try out our collection of the few of the best recipes which would be simple and easy for you to make at home.
